The client had a generous grassy area in the garden that was rarely used. Their goal was to transform it into a functional outdoor space for entertaining friends and enjoying family time together. We set about creating a design that balanced practicality with atmosphere. The layout was planned to maximise the sense of openness while introducing sheltered zones for year-round use.
The finished space successfully combines a sense of openness with intimacy, creating an “outdoor living room” that feels like a holiday at home. It provides the family with a welcoming place to gather, cook, and relax, while also delivering a design that will age gracefully and remain low-maintenance. The clients are thrilled with the result. A once underused patch of grass has become the true heart of the garden, centred around the warmth and theatre of the pizza oven.
